Sample Decks?

Sample Decks?
Me and my Dad want to try this game out, but I have one problem:
With no experience, I have no clue what cards a deck should have. I get the rules, but deck building takes some getting used to (for me at least). If anyone could provide any sample decks, I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Sample Decks?
Generally you want around 10 cards to be level 1 creatures, 8-10 to be level 2, and the rest made of level level 3 and 4 and events.
Here's a sample deck I had people playing at an playtesting deck last weekend. This is focused on Forest: warm (I modified this slightly from what I actually gave playtesters, based on their feedback)
Level 1s
Trembling Aspen X3
Pacific Dogwood X3
Paper Birch X3
Valley Oak X3
Level 2
Eastern Spotted Skunk X2
Jamaican Fruit Bat X2
Spectacled Fruit Bat X2
Hawaiian Beet Webworm X2
Northern Cardinal X2
Monarch Butterfly X2
Level 3-4,
Boa Constrictor
yellow Winged Bat
Western Sucker Footed Bat
Tiger Quoll
Events
Severe Drought
Flood
I'll post some other ones later after I finish unpacking from vacation. I found that deck in my pocketbook. The rest are somewhere in my luggage... somewhere...

Re: Sample Decks?
Ah, thanks a lot.
So you don't need habitats to build an ecosystem? I've been kinda confused on that part..

Habitats have been an area of contention and changes, so it's alright to be confused. There was a pretty massive overhaul of the rules, but habitats as of now function of low point value permanent anchors which you can play off of, as opposed to higher point value plant species which may be subject to event cards.

Ah, I see. So foodchain 1 species can be played on the Home card then?

Re: Sample Decks?
Yes. Generally, you would want to start all your chains/webs with level 1 cards in order to get the highest end score. Habitats would be useful against an opponent who has stacked his/her deck with event cards, so you could always throw a few in there for safe keeping.

Re: Sample Decks?
Is there any sample decks focused on Urban habitat? Wouldn't it make more sense, since the critters in the Urban habitat are most likely encountered by the players?
